As members of Spinnaker Chorus we are encouraged to develop our vocal and performance skills at every opportunity. An excellent way to do this is by singing in quartet groups which improves confidence in your individual part, whilst perfecting harmonies, pitch, tuning and blending with the other parts in the group.
We are very lucky to have a number of superb quartets within Spinnaker ranging from beginners to more experienced groups.
Formed in 2015, we are a group of experienced singers who are equally at home singing barbershop standards or more modern a cappella arrangements – we just love to sing and entertain!
Karen is our Lead, Colleen our Bass, Liz our Baritone and Jenni our Tenor. We’ve recently achieved high scores at both Gosport and Fareham Music Festivals and on each occasion we were thrilled to be awarded a Distinction. In addition to competitions, we also enjoy singing at special events such as private functions and fetes as well as at care homes and schools. Whatever the setting, we always deliver a fun and engaging performance!
Sapphire Quartet is available for hire. For more information please contact Karen on 07854 613980 or firstname.lastname@example.org
The One Eyed Jacks
Liz (Lead), Kay (Bass), Jill (Baritone) and Mary (Tenor) – together we are The One Eyed Jacks and we love to sing, perform, compete and entertain. We’re a relatively new quartet, and are still building up our repertoire, but singing four part harmony brings us joy and we always have a lot of fun.
Our first competition was at the Isle of Wight Music Festival in March 2018 and we were amazed and over-joyed to win joint first prize, and to bring back a trophy and a Distinction certificate on the ferry. We like to think of it as our first overseas performance.
We get asked a lot about our name – it’s a long story but let’s just say it involves Liz’s cat and reflects our sense of humour and our kooky characters!
The One Eyed Jacks are currently unavailable for bookings.
We are Tutti Frutti and we began singing together in January 2017. We love to sing and have lots of fun doing it too. Rehearsals are hard work, full of energy, laughter, song, dance and sometimes…cake! Emma – our chocolate sounding Bass; Helen – our weaving Baritone; and Liz – our lovely lead, met through Spinnaker Chorus; and Caroline – who sings for Guildford Harmony, EQ Rendezvous & Guildford Opera, auditioned to become our lovely twinkling tenor. As a quartet we have entered and are currently entering music festivals for this year and next, with a goal to singing in the national barbershop competitions in the future. Recently, (March 2018) we had the pleasure of winning the female quartet class at Portsmouth Music Festival, receiving “Honours” and are in possession of the Sterling Mackinlay Cup. What an experience!! Our first outing was at Gosport music festival in November 2017, receiving a Distinction and a joint third place. We believe in supporting others that want to sing in quartet too. Singing is our passion.
Our quartet is available for hire please contact Caroline on email@example.com.
Acamania are an exciting new mixed acapella quartet. We started singing together in January 2018 and are all members of the multi-award-winning Spinnaker Chorus.
JP – the bass man, is a vocal maestro with a love of 50s music.
Julia – the melody singer has a dynamic personality and a voice to match
Sam – sings the high notes with the voice of an angel, or maybe a devil? You decide…
Debs – sings the notes that are left with dexterity and focus.
Acamania are now available for bookings. We have performance packages available to suit a variety of events and occasions. Contact Debs at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information or to make a booking.
