Office Bearers

Key Responsibilities

• Chairs Management Team meetings, AGM and EGM meetings. Agrees the agenda and priorities with the Chorus Secretary.
• Develops and implements appropriate Chorus policies.
• Responsible for overall Chorus communications; actively listening to and responding to members’ views.
• Preserves and nurtures the Chorus culture of fun, friendship and mutual support.
• Ensures that all LABBS resolutions and rules are implemented.
• Represents the Chorus to LABBS and other external bodies.

Key Responsibilities

• Assists and supports the Chair
• Takes on duties of the Chair by mutual agreement.
• Deputises for the Chair.
• Takes responsibility for specific tasks or projects as required. (e.g. Website, Rehearsal venue options)

Key Responsibilities

• Prepares agendas for Management Team meetings.
• Prepares, finalises and distributes minutes of Management Team meetings.
• Handles all matters of correspondence pertaining to Chorus administration.
• Compiles, edits and posts the Weekly Chorus newsletter.
• Prepares templates and collates information for Chorus events.
• Updates and amends all Chorus documentation together with the Chair and Membership Secretary as appropriate.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepares and monitors the annual budget.
• Collects all monies due to the Chorus and advises on appropriate subscription levels.
• Manages the Chorus bank account/s and pays fees/invoices on behalf of the Chorus.
• Ensures that Chorus income balances Chorus income and expenditure.
• Provides longer term financial planning advice.
• Prepares annual accounts for the AGM.

Key Responsibilities

• Manages Chorus registration.
• Makes contact with potential new members to make them feel welcome.
• Assists potential new members in learning about the Chorus and preparing for auditions.
• Ensures handover of information to section leaders once prospective new members have entered the audition  process
• Oversees weekly attendance registers and reports on quarterly/annual attendance statistics.
• Assists with the growth and promotion of the Chorus through recruitment campaigns.
• Assists with membership retention and alerts the Chair/Management Team to membership issues.

Key Responsibilities

• Liaises with local media for publicity purposes
• Writes articles for local media and barbershop/singing publications
• Publicises all Chorus events on social media 
• Designs and prepares promotional materials including event flyers
• Manages the public Spinnaker Facebook page
• Contributes actively to the private Spinnaker Facebook page for internal communications
• Ensures that photographs are taken of Spinnaker events for publicity purposes

Key Responsibilities

• Identifies opportunities for appropriate singouts and markets the Chorus to potential audiences/venues
• Receives performance requests and provides information and advice to the MD on suitability
• Supports the MD by coordinating information from the client once performance/s have been agreed
• Liaises with the MD on an appropriate fee for each event based on agreed broad guidelines
• Assesses the availability of Chorus members for potential sing-outs and advise the MD of numbers and names by voice part.
• Liaises with PRO re publicity for each performance/event
• Liaises with Treasurer re receipts, fees, donations etc

• Manages access to the various elements of the site
• Updates Web content 
• Assists others to access and maintain data and content
• Responsible for data protection and compliance with GDPR

• Setting the musical direction for the Chorus.
• Appointing members to the Music Team.
• Overseeing the singing evaluation of existing and new Chorus members.
• Planning and directing Chorus rehearsals.
• Providing education, support and encouragement to Section leaders, enabling them to develop their sections.
• Deciding the content of competitions and performance and preparing the Chorus for all performances.
• Introducing new music to the Chorus 
• Developing methods to improve the performance standards of the Chorus.
• Planning and implementing a coaching strategy for the Chorus.
• Encouraging and advising Chorus quartets.

• Standing in for the MD as required.
• Leading rehearsals in MD’s absence.
• Assisting in the selection of music and new songs.
• Assisting section leaders in developing their sections.

• Coaching sectional rehearsals.
• Managing ‘pink sequin’ evaluations.
• Communicating with section members to advise on music matters and listen to comments/issues.
